Welcome!
My name is Hilary Sher and I am a graphic designer living & working in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I have over 6 years of experience designing aesthetically pleasing solutions for both web and print materials, while creating and maintaining diverse brand standards for a variety of clients. I am a formally trained designer, as I graduated from the York/Sheridan Bachelor of Design Honours Degree program in 2008, and attended the Chang School at Ryerson University for a certificate in Web Design in 2009.
My experience as a practicing designer has given me a comprehensive understanding of the potential that design has as an interdisciplinary discourse, while developing a passion for communication design, branding, and design management. These are all areas that I am constantly exploring, and really hope to develop throughout my career.
> Design Process
I believe that the foundation for any successful design is through informed and strategic planning and research. Design research is at the core of each of my projects, complete with a competitive & market analysis, to ensure that everything I design is relevant to its industry as well as has the potential to become a strong market competitor. Through each of my projects I ensure that my client’s needs are being met, and that the message is clear and consistent across all deliverables.

> Giving Back to the Community
As a graphic designer, I know that many of my services can have an impact for non-profit organizations, and can definitely help raise awareness. Over the past six years I have been very involved with raising funds and awareness for Breast Cancer Research for the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. In 2007 I coordinated a charity auction raising over $7000 for Breast Cancer Research. I am currently committed to various charitable projects, including: |

> Ribbons & Roses – Annual Charity Auction for Breast Cancer Research
Ribbons & Roses is a charitable auction raising funds for the Princess Margaret Breast Cancer Research Foundation, run by Delta Pi Sorority at York University in Toronto, Canada. I have been a contributor since 2004, donating design services for all of their promotional event marketing, online and print deliverables, as well as any branding or rebranding required each year. |
